Some resources say that it can be used in temporary relief for wound pain. I suggest caution in that case.

As for eating turmeric, it does provide a general body wide anti-inflammatory action like that of ibuprofen.

According to the book "Integrative Medicine" by Dr. David Rakel M.D., turmeric can be taken in over a period of time

"As a tea: 1 to 1.5 gm of dried root steeped in 150 mL of water for 15 minutes and drunk, twice daily."

"As an herbal supplement: studies have used up to 1.5 gm of turmeric daily in three or four divided doses."Dr. Christine Princeton, D.O.https://www.blogger.com/profile/04353260924355702979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5539536712848399272.post-31359408690515510862011-03-19T22:50:15.754-07:002011-03-19T22:50:15.754-07:00See. This proves I've been trapped in the medical world too long. ;-)

Being an immunosuppressant can be a good thing, especially in conditions where the body's immune system attacks itself... such as rheumatoid arthritis, Sjorgen's Syndrome, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Lupus, and other autoimmune syndromes.

The fact that tumeric is considered an "adjuvant" indicates that it doesn't have the strength enough on its own to suppress normal function of the immune system.

Instead tumeric helps reduce the inflammation in conditions where your immunity attacks your own body.

Yeah, 100 mg/kg is a lot of spice. Can you imagine putting that on your salad?

As with most natural alternative medicines, tumeric needs to be taken in capsule form over a longer period of time.

LOL. As for telling you where to get most of these natural things, I usually try to refrain from plugging companies, but I will try to add more purchasing options in the future.

Lidocaine, on the other hand, is regulated closely by the FDA. You have to have a medical license or a prescription for it. Oversees companies may be options, but there is no guarantee of their quality.

Unfortunately, that is the main reason why I am including posts about alternatives found in nature.

Although, preparedness co-ops which include a physician or nurse practitioner can be the best options to acquire such materials.

And thanks! :) I'm glad to be back.Dr. Christine Princeton, D.O.https://www.blogger.com/profile/04353260924355702979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5539536712848399272.post-68863361142134732462011-03-19T21:39:19.400-07:002011-03-19T21:39:19.400-07:00And neem oil mixed with it for topical use, but no...And neem oil mixed with it for topical use, but not eating? (for topical painkiller?)

But eating it gives painkilling effect in general?

So what are some uses of it as a topical analgesic? Not stitches, I'm assuming, because I imagine it would be difficult to stitch around the paste? Unless it lasts for a bit and you can flush the area clean after a few minutes? Thanks!!

Neem oil topical ok for pregnant ladies?Teresita Darlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12399167425409854324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5539536712848399272.post-48024682208527186142011-03-19T21:31:43.127-07:002011-03-19T21:31:43.127-07:00potential adjuvant immunosuppressant... what is th...potential adjuvant immunosuppressant... what is that? sounds bad? immunoSUPPRESANT?

and you said eat 100mg per the patient's kg?! wow!

So glad you're back.
